The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate's employment at the University. The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement. Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Fixed-term position available for three years

An exciting new opportunity to join an innovative team at Adelaide Microscopy, the University's core facility for Microscopy and Microanalysis

The Data Informatics Specialist role is a new role within Adelaide Microscopy which is critical for supporting researchers in the management and processing of data for advanced microscopy and imaging. The successful applicant will work with Adelaide Microscopy staff, researchers and users of the centre in providing training, management and processing of data from advanced optical and electron microscopy.

The role will also inform Information Technology and Digital Services Team with developing new initiatives for storage and high performance computing related to Microscopy and imaging.

To be successful you will need:
  • Demonstrated skills in image data collection, analysis, management, or curation.
  • Knowledge or demonstrated expertise in use and training of imaging analysis tools used in microscopy.
  • Demonstrated expertise and fundamental knowledge in image and data management with current technologies including data repositories, standards in metadata, research methods and research data curation and how data supports high quality research.
  • Demonstrated highly developed written and oral communication skills, including ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with a wide and diverse range of people.
  • Experience in preparing complex data for both publication and conferences.
