The campus also houses the UA Colleges of Public Health, Pharmacy, and Nursing, as well as Northern Arizona University's College of Health and Human Services, the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen).Outstanding UAbenefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance anddisability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAUtuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; stateretirement plan; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!*Duties & Responsibilities:** Leads the Office of Student Development which is comprised of one director and three learning specialists to accomplish goals for academic support programs including but not limited to: learning and development strategies, test-taking strategies, and USMLE preparation. * Leads the Office of Student Services which is comprised of one director and 5 support staff to provide exemplary support in the areas of student records, financial aid, student government and student services administration. * Leads the Career and Professional Advising program which is comprised of a director and faculty advisors to provide longitudinal career planning and professionalism mentorship for all COM-P students.* Leads the Student Wellness Program which comprises a director and a psychologist.* Leads all aspects of the residency match process for COM-P students. * Serves as primary contact for students facing educational, personal, and/or financial challenges and refers students to appropriate resources.* Serves as an advisor for medical student organizations and interest groups to establish and strengthen opportunities for extracurricular activities based on student initiative. * Leads and oversees the implementation of the school's student governance structure and provides ongoing support and review of this structure.* Serves as advocate for student-related issues.* Oversees and contributes to the development of Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs) for fourth year students. * Manages personnel, processes, and budgets within the Office of Student Affairs.* Serves as an integral member of the Academic Affairs Leadership team, which comprises the Senior Associate Dean, the Associate Dean for Admissions and Recruitment, the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs and Program Evaluation, and the Associate Dean for Clinical and Competency Based Education.* Executes all duties required of the Associate Dean, Student Affairs by COM-P policies.* Oversees all student service aspects of LCME accreditation. * Serves as the institutional representative for the College of Medicine- Phoenix to the AAMC Group on Student Affairs and attends regional and national professional development conferences. * Reviews program operations and implementation of the policies of College of Medicine to ensure that the programs and policies achieve goals * Assures compliance with College of Medicine-Phoenix, University of Arizona, state and national policies and best practices in student affairs. * Other duties as assigned by Senior Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, College of Medicine - Phoenix *Minimum Qualifications:** MD, DO, or equivalent degree * Five years of experience in student affairs in undergraduate medical education.* Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including budget and personnel management.* Knowledgeof laws, regulations, and accreditation standards relevant to student affairsfunctions. *Preferred Qualifications:**FLSA:*Exempt*Full Time/Part Time:*Full Time*Number of Hours Worked per Week:*40 *Job FTE:*0.80 - 1.0*Work Calendar:*Fiscal*Job Category:*Academic Administration*Benefits Eligible:*Yes - Full Benefits*Rate of Pay:*AAMC MD Public Schools; Commensurate with rank and experienceDOE*Compensation Type:*salary at 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE) *Type of criminal background check required::*Fingerprint criminal background check (security sensitive due to title or department) *Number of Vacancies:*1 *Target Hire Date:*4/26/2021 *Expected End Date:* *Contact Information for Candidates:*Octavio Duarte, MBA *Open Date:*12/18/2020*Open Until Filled:*Yes*Documents Needed to Apply:*Curriculum Vitae (CV), Cover Letter, and One Additional Document*Special Instructions to Applicant:**For the 3rd document attachment, please include a statement of educational philosophy.*The successful applicant will be required to obtain faculty status within the appropriate academic department.
