This position will assume a leadership role within the Emerging Market (EM) Meningococcal vaccines asset. The position will support medical affairs activities for EM with primary responsibility on Meningococcal asset for the current meningococcal actual vaccines Nimenrix, Trumemba and next generation Pentavalent conjugate vaccines. The position will be Responsible for the adaptation and implementation of the global medical strategy, this role will work very close with global team and get alignment on medical position to integrate a coherent strategy to preserve and expand Nimenrix and Trumemba in EM countries and to successfully launch and positioning Meningococcal Pentavalent among EM. This will be achieved by cross-functional integration with different areas of Meningococcal vaccines (vaccine research and development, health outcomes, commercial, regulatory, safety, public affairs) at the global and local levels; coordinating work and strategies where appropriate with KOLs and external scientists; conducting and publishing results of high quality scientific studies of relevance to meningococcal goals; and functioning as a deputy to the EM medical lead for meningococcal vaccines.

Roles and REsponsabilities:
  • Accountable for ensuring integration of scientific information (epidemiology, carriage, disease burden, public health value, etc.) in the meningococcal assets as an integral member.
  • Act as an expert on meningococcal vaccines and meningococcal science, within and outside of Pfizer
  • Contribute to developing a strategy on publications, scientific congresses, and advisory boards each year to support scientific data related to meningococcal vaccines.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with eGlocal external partners that can inform on scientific issues of relevance to meningococcal vaccine policies and decision-making
  • Join the Glocal workstreams
  • Lead the scientific dialogue and positioning of meningococcal vaccines and science via various avenues, including but not limited to:
  • The development and execution of medical advisory boards in accordance with Pfizer policies and procedures.
  • Working with internal and external experts to publish data in peer-reviewed manuscripts, including taking the lead for writing the first draft of these manuscripts
  • Working with internal and external experts to develop abstracts and present data for scientific congresses, including taking the lead for writing and presenting
  • Take responsibility for mandatory periodic regulatory/safety reporting (e.g., PSUR/DSUR/PBRER, WHO PVQAR)
  • Provide credible and accurate scientific data demonstrating the value of our meningococcal products and differentiating them from our competitors to support country level tendering processes
  • Assist with competitive intelligence for meningococcal vaccines, including gathering and communicating findings
  • Develop and update slide compendiums for medical-to-medical as well as internal use for the science related to meningococcal disease and vaccination
  • Oversee gathering and integrating published scientific data necessary for developing meningococcal vaccine product labels
  • Review external study proposals as member of the Epidemiology Sub-committee (ESC) and Medical Scientific Committee
  • Contribute as a member of the EM Vaccine Leadership Team


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MD with relevant degree in a field such as epidemiology or public health
  • At least 10 years of working experience in Public health field and a minimal 7 years of experience in vaccine-related or vaccine-preventable disease related medical/scientific activities including research, clinical development, epidemiological, and immunization programs. experience in meningococcal disease and meningococcal vaccines is desirable.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Proven ability to interact with senior KOLs and Government officials dealing with immunization programs/vaccine policy and vaccine recommendations
  • Demonstrated experience effectively leading and collaborating with matrixed teams
  • Established track record of values and compliance leadership including across diverse cultures and geographies
  • Documented ability to take a vaccine or vaccine-preventable disease project from start to end including conception, design, protocol, analytic plan, implementation, analysis, and reporting and interpretation of results
  • Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data; understand information on emerging safety and efficacy profile of meningococcal vaccines
  • Understand the critical data elements related to assessing the public health value of meningococcal vaccines, ability to oversee or conduct public health analyses of vaccine impact, and ability to interpret data and data limitations for both Pfizer and competitor meningococcal vaccines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills
  • Strong work ethic and history of delivering project within stated timelines.
  • Fluent in English writing, reading, speaking; multiple languages a plus (particularly Spanish, French, or mandarin) but not required
