Lecturer in Aerospace Systems

The role

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol is seeking to recruit Lecturer in area of Aerospace Systems. The Department is a part of the School of Civil, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, renowned for delivering both high quality teaching and world-class research, attracting the highest calibre of students and providing an intellectually stimulating environment for academic staff. You will be responsible for devising and delivering undergraduate teaching on Aerospace Systems - which may encompass both processes and hardware, and you will develop and conduct research in an associated area. We are especially keen to recruit candidates who can complement our existing research initiatives in areas associated with Aerospace Systems for example in green aviation, including future propulsion technologies, aeroacoustics, morphing aircraft, or in UAV technologies including operations; mission planning; and hardware systems.

You will have access to our world-class facilities, including the Lowsen Wind Tunnel Facility and a wide range of experimental platforms and capabilities at the Faculty of Engineering.

What will you be doing?

• You will conduct world leading research in Aerospace Systems, including applying for funding and supervising research students, supported by our established research team and facilities.
• You will be presenting your research at international conferences in your field and publishing high quality peer-reviewed journal papers.
• You will be building research collaborations with industry.
• You will be responsible for devising and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Aerospace Systems Engineering.
• You will support students through our tutorial system and supervising student projects.
• You will contribute to academic administration within the Department and School.
