The Global Medical Affairs Lead - RSV will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
  • Accountable to align the future medical and access strategy for his/her product
  • Ensure that patient and customer's unmet medical needs and insights are captured and incorporated appropriately into the functional plans (e.g. Medical Affairs, Epidemiology, Health Outcomes, etc.) including appropriate engagement of external experts/scientific community
  • Validate asset and recommendation assumptions with commercial to support the FRC process
  • Participate and shape the medical strategy within the RSV Vaccine Development Team (VDT).
  • Provide medical thought leadership and input into different work packages of the integrated vaccine plan such as the disease landscape, treatment paradigms etc.
  • Responsible for working in partnership with clinical development and central and regional partner functions, to optimize the clinical development plans in support of a reimbursable file and life cycle strategy.
  • Ensure that key LOC insights are effectively incorporated into the asset development process
  • Accountable for ensuring plans and activities of his/her vaccine are implemented in a manner that is compliant with Scientific Engagement principles, GSK's Code of Practice and GSK values.
  • Accountable for representing the medical voice into the vaccine development and commercial streams (VDS) in alignment with the GMPL
  • Build the Medical evidence generation plan including key areas, geographic footprint and an overall framework/guidance for evidence generation activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring plans and activities are implemented in a manner that is compliant with Scientific Engagement principles, GSK's Code of Practice and GSK values
  • Ensures that all communications are scientifically accurate, balanced, remain aligned with product strategy, and compliant to applicable laws and regulations.

    Basic Qualifications:

    We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
    • MD or PhD, Specialty or Master in Public Health, Infectious Diseases
    • 5 plus years of Pharmaceutical industry experience in Global Medical Affairs with launch and life cycle management experience


    Preferred Qualifications:

    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
    • At least 10 years in pharmaceutical industry, acquired through global or Regional/Local Medical Affairs or non-Medical Affairs relevant functional areas: Regulatory affairs, Clinical, epidemiology, market access, discovery
    • Launch, life cycle management and early development experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of the development process from asset inception through lifecycle management
    • Ability to define the medical affairs and market access strategy and constructively interact cross-functionally to build brand & project strategy
    • Previous experiencein leading matrixteams is a strong asset
    • Good knowledge of the US environment
    • Engaging, building and sustaining a broad and strong external (expert) network
    • Business acumen acquired through non-Medical Affairs relevant functional areas (Commercial, Gov Aff, Market Access, R&D)
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to be a GSK spokesperson with media
    • Experienced speaker on scientific/medical topics in fora of different audiences, including Advisory boards, public panel discussion
    • Advocacy experience and interaction with governmental officials
    • Strong analytical skills to be able to assess and interpret scientific data
    • Ability to independently develop and review new materials based on strategy, core evidence documents, publication experience
    • Ability to take a solid fact-based position
    • Experience with review & approval processes in a highly regulated setting
