Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out research-led teaching in American History, with a particular focus on histories of race and gender in the twentieth century?
Do you have the ability to motivate and inspire students?
Are you keen to contribute to research-led teaching in our department?
You will carry out teaching in American History, with a particular focus on gender history and Black cultural and political history. You will have a PhD in American History, American Studies, or a cognate discipline (or be close to submission) and relevant teaching experience.
The School of History, which includes the Institute for Medieval Studies, has over forty members of academic staff, working across a wide range of chronological, geographical, and thematic specialisms. We are committed to providing an inclusive experience for both students and staff, diversifying our curriculum, and improving representation in all areas of our activity. The School of History has a strong track record in American History, including a lively research culture via its international American Research Seminar series and its significant cohort of American History PGRs.
