Do you have experience of clinical audit and would you be interested in joining a team whose work will ultimately impact on the future healthcare of critically ill children?

Are you a highly organised and self-motivated individual who can take on the key role of managing and developing the expansion of the Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet) project?

You will make key decisions on a day-to-day basis about priorities for the team and be responsible for project managing the expansion of the national clinical audit in paediatric intensive care (PICANet) to include all critical care activity (high dependency care and intensive care). Working with data providers, you will oversee the use of audit data for local quality improvement and the development of key performance indicators nationally to stimulate the use of audit data to drive healthcare quality improvement. You will manage the information governance and data protection requirements of the audit expansion, the contracts and Data Sharing Agreements with NHS England, and have a substantial role in guiding the technical developments required to achieve project goals.

Your effective communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in building rapport with senior NHS England staff involved in monitoring and audit of healthcare provision. You will also have experience of working in a clinical or health-related audit/research environment and managing a complex large-scale project (ideally multicentre health related).

The ability to write clear, high quality reports is required. Familiarity with writing NHS HRA ethics (IRAS) applications, data protection legislation and clinical/research governance is essential.

You should have a degree in a health or science related subject or equivalent relevant qualification/experience. Effective communication, organisational and prioritising skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines, along with well-developed computer skills and excellent attention to detail are essential. You will have experience of clinical audit and/or NHS research.
