Using your understanding of the safety requirements of office, laboratory and field-based activities, you will work in partnership with the technical and administrative teams and Safety and Health Services to provide working solutions to ensure compliance with safety legislation and University policy. You will take the lead in organising, monitoring, recording and training on a wide range of diverse activities, often with the need to come up with innovative and novel ideas to enable teaching and research to be carried out safely. Through this you will work to ensure a safe working environment for all who work in the Schools, and off-site during fieldwork, actively promoting a culture of safe working.

Knowledge of the field environment is desirable, however this can be gained while in post. You should already hold or be willing to work towards holding an appropriate professional safety qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Certificate (training will be supported once in post). Relevant qualifications at GCSE/A-Level, or NVQ, or equivalent level, and substantial work experience in a relevant role are required. Applicants of all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply, the Schools and wider institution are committed to providing an inclusive and equitable working environment.
