The role

The Department of Aerospace Engineering is looking to enhance its teaching capability in a core aspect of aerospace engineering - Aircraft Design. The department is internationally recognised for its research and for its teaching, where we aim to provide a balanced mix of theory, practice and design skills, providing up to date and relevant education through provision of stimulating and authentic learning environments. We are looking for someone who can bring research or industrial experience of an aspect of Aircraft Design and who can teach students about the broad, interlinked nature of this cross-disciplinary field.

What will I be doing

You will:
  • Develop learning content in a variety of formats to support the aircraft design theme running through our undergraduate programmes.
  • Be responsible for the delivery and coordination of the relevant units to make sure that all students receive an excellent learning experience.
  • Work with academic and technical staff to enhance our practical and design teaching activities.
  • Act as a conduit to industry ensuring our Aircraft Design teaching equips students for a career in aerospace engineering.
  • Take responsibility of maintaining and enhancing academic standards in the relevant units to ensure that academic outcomes are reflective of student learning.
  • Review and reflect on the feedback received for the relevant units and contribute to redesign and redevelopment of these.
