Department of Psychology
Duties
- Developing/teaching/coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
- Conducting appropriate research;
- Supervision of postgraduate students;
- Performing relevant administrative and committee duties;
- Actively participating in the Department's research initiatives and community involvement.
Job Requirements
- A PhD;
- Proven experience as an established academic and researcher;
- Or (in the case of professor), demonstrable, clear evidence of being a leader in his/her field;
- Registered with the HPCSA as a clinical/counselling psychologist.
Recommendation
- As a department, we have established ourselves as having expertise in the following areas:
- Human development (childhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging);
- Clinical psychology (including assessment and psychotherapy);
- Community psychology/social psychology;
- Critical psychology;
- Public mental health.
