Kelly is hiring a Research Scientist for one of our clients in Seattle WA.
  • Pay; $32 - $37 per hour
  • Duration: 12 months
  • On-site role

The candidate will be a member of the Cell Sciences team, sharing their time between recombinant protein production-associated tasks and work on established cell lines.

Educational requirement: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.
Preferred experience: in academic or industrial setting.

Essential skills:
• Understanding of cell culture and sterile technique.
• Planning skills to execute on multiple work streams and provide timely and prioritized results.
• Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills to investigate technical and scientific questions.
• Excellent communication skills working in a team focused multi-site environment.
• Basic flow cytometry skills are highly desired.

• Performing cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques including cell culture, mammalian cell transfection, molecular cloning, viral transduction, flow cytometry, and western blotting.
• Cell line expansion and banking.
• Scale-up cell cultures in a variety of formats (TC flasks, shaker flasks, other devices).
• Routine execution of assays for cell lines sterility, viability, and identity.
• Recording the activities in ELN and databases, implementation of existing barcoding system.
• Ordering cell lines and lab supplies, participating in lab infrastructure maintenance.
d concepts of experimental design. Knowledge and application of a limited, core set of techniques. Completion of routine data analysis with some guidance. Regular communication of results to supervisor or team leader. Requires Bachelor's Degree; Masters preferred; between 0-3 years experience.
