The role

The NCMD Administrator will provide essential administrative support to the delivery of the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) which aims to drive improvements in the quality of health and social care for children in England and to help reduce premature mortality.

What will you be doing?
  • You will provide administrative support to the NCMD Project Manager and the Unit Director including day to day clerical duties such as photocopying, typing and organising printing services and secure postage requirements when necessary
  • Creating documents from a detailed brief as required. This will include updating contract review documents, minutes and action logs and other documents as required
  • Receive and respond to day to day enquiries by telephone and email


You should apply if
  • You have been Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent, in English, Science and Maths (Grades A-C) or two years vocational training (including IT skills) or NVQ Level 2
  • You have experience of working in an office environment with responsibility for own workload
  • You have IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office package including Microsoft Access to manipulate data and run queries and reports
  • You have experience of minute taking
  • You have good communication skills (verbal and written) with colleagues and members of the public, occasionally including families of children who have died
