Job Title: Sr. Staff Scientist - Organic Polymer Surface Chemistry

Pay: $90 per hour

Position Summary:

Hiring an experienced synthetic organic chemist or chemical engineer with expertise in surface modification of polymers to join a team of scientists developing innovative new chromatography resins for the purification of biologics in biotech and biopharmaceutical settings. Proven record in product development is required and experience in regulated environment preferred. Analytical background should include at least some of: U/HPLC analysis of biological macromolecules E&L studies of products intended for regulated industries, and typical tools of chemical analysis such as FTIR, NMR, LCMS, and GC/MS. Efficient experimental design (DOE) a plus, and willingness ability to work in matrixed environment is essential, leading and mentoring colleagues and working closely with team members on a daily basis.

In need of a chemist with particular strength in commercial product development. It won't be enough for someone to have worked with clients to develop a new chemistry or even a custom product to suit highly specific needs as defined in a contract or statement of work. Looking for someone with experience in developing commercialized products, those that become catalog items targeted at an industry or class of customers and not an individual client or collaborator.

The successful candidate will have experience interacting with key stakeholders internally, reporting both laterally and up to high-level decision makers while leading a team of scientists or engineers in development activities required for buy-in from all corners of the organization.
