We are seeking someone with expertise in sustainable livestock production to work with our expanding team of livestock scientists at the new £12M state-of-the-art National Pig Centre at the University of Leeds research farm. With both an indoor and outdoor unit at commercial scales, the Centre offers the opportunity to conduct trials from farrow to finish, using precision nutrition methods and individual monitoring including 24/7 CCTV surveillance. Working closely with colleagues from our cross-university initiatives such as the Global Food and Environment Institute, Sustainability Research Institute, Priestley Centre for Climate Change and the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics, you will develop a growing local, national and international network of contacts in academia, industry, policy and civil society. Working across the boundary between fundamental and applied research, you will strive for science that makes a real-world difference.

You should have a PhD in animal science, or a related discipline with a track record of research outputs in refereed publications of internationally excellent quality;
