The UTS LX.lab is recruiting for an Inclusive Practices Support Officer to support the development of accessible learning environments for all UTS students, by providing support for teaching staff and faculties in digital accessibility.

Detailed Description

The UTS model of learning facilitates the development of students' future-focused graduate capabilities and professional identities through learning that is practice-oriented, globally-focused and research-inspired. UTS aims to engage students in a seamless blend of online and face-to-face learning experiences that realises the potential of integrating the creative use of new technologies with face-to-face learning in new campus spaces and with learning in the workplace and community.

If successful in applying for this role, you will:
  • Provide training and advice to academics, faculties and other support units on how to implement their responsibilities to reasonable accommodations for learning activities and assessments, especially relating to exams
  • Work in partnership with the Accessibility and Financial Assistance Service to find effective solutions to digital accessibility learning and teaching issues arising in faculties.
  • Support the LX Technologies team to improve the accessibility of the digital learning environment, by providing advice and practical support for learning technologies projects.
  • Support the Accessibility Service and LX.lab with the implementation of online exams for students requiring assistive technologies, scribe, readers.
  • Participate in delivering internal training of staff in the LX.lab, IML and others involved in learning design, around digital accessibility
  • Assist the LX.lab Inclusive Practices Coordinator and LX.lab Services Team Leader to identify improvements to service design.
