The role
The University of Bristol's Department of Philosophy wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Philosophy. This is an open ended position on Pathway 3 (primary responsibility for teaching, rather than research).
What will you be doing?
The appointee will be expected to deliver lectures and seminars at undergraduate and MA level, to mark essays and exams, to supervise and mark undergraduate dissertations and MA independent-study essays, to undertake any necessary teaching-related administration, to provide pastoral support to students, and to participate fully in the daily life of the department.
You should apply if
The appointee should have a broad knowledge of philosophy and be able to teach across the curriculum. In particular, the appointee must have teaching competency in: i) second- and third-year undergraduate level Political Philosophy (broadly construed); and ii) first-year undergraduate level Critical Reasoning and Introductory Logic. Additional teaching competencies are welcome.
