We are seeking an outstanding individual to fulfill the role of Chief of Staff to the President of City, University of London, Professor Anthony Finkelstein, who takes up the role in summer 2021. This exciting new role will be central to the operation of the Office of the President, contributing to and enabling the delivery of the President's responsibilities as the Chief Executive of the University. The role holder will also work closely with members of the President's Senior Leadership Team, on behalf of the President, in developing and delivering City's strategic objectives.

The Chief of Staff will be an exceptional individual with a creative and innovative approach to team working in a senior executive team. You will have relevant leadership and management experience within a university or similar complex organisation and the ability to work effectively alongside other senior university leaders. You will bring to the role an in-depth understanding of policy issues in Higher Education, a flexible approach and a willingness and ability to take on a range of complex tasks and projects on behalf of the President, and the ability to think strategically while balancing several complex agendas. The Chief of Staff will have first-class interpersonal and communication skills that allow them to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with senior levels of academic and professional staff. They will need to undertake assignments that are highly delicate and demanding, requiring tact and discretion as well as exceptional analytical and presentational skills. They will also need personal credibility and influencing skills to operate beyond personal authority with senior internal and external colleagues.
