Head of UCL East Partnerships

Full Time

Contract/Permanent - current funding until the end of July 2023 in the first instance

Salary: The appointment will be on UCL Grade 9. The salary range will be £57,342 - £62,346 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The Head of UCL East Partnerships will provide senior advisory support to the Director of UCL East in building effective, long-lasting relationships with our political/local authority partners in the Olympic Growth Boroughs.

They will nurture these relationships with strong stakeholder management and by creating a framework to deliver real change and benefit to East London, through UCL East.

The post is funded until the end of July 2023 in the first instance.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and/or substantial relevant experience, with significant experience building and managing relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders. They will have proven ability to work with, gain the confidence of, influence and negotiate with people at all levels. With proven experience in developing and implementing a communications strategy, along with writing business cases/ proposals e.g. for partnership working across organisations. They will have excellent communication skills, both in writing and in person, with specific experience of report writing for senior boards. The individual will be a self-starting strategic thinker, with an enterprising mind-set and the ability to innovate; be opportunistic, responsive, resourceful and resilient.

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver projects and complex activity on time and to budget and have excellent organisational, time-management and project-management skills, including the ability to work efficiently on numerous projects simultaneously and to adapt to changing circumstances, an excellent attention to detail and a high standard of work presentation, are essential.

UCL East represents the largest ever single expansion of UCL since the University was founded nearly 200 years ago. It will be a new UCL campus, complementing the Bloomsbury campus, and will be located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, to the south of the Aquatics Centre and the ArcelorMittal Orbit.

Taking UCL's tradition of disruptive thinking further, UCL East is integrating research and education, theory and practice - with cross-disciplinarity, innovation and public engagement - to co-create the solutions to the global challenges facing future living.

UCL East is a founding partner of the East Bank, the new cultural and educational district, which include the V&A, UAL's London College of Fashion, Sadler's Wells and the BBC.
