Adelaide Medical School is the largest school in the University, providing a world-class innovative, collaborative learning environment for students studying translational medicine and research. It has a proud research record of vigorous and diverse research programs in basic science, with applications to health and clinical research across numerous core disciplines. Each of these discipline areas plays a valuable role in the teaching and research activities of the school.

The Dean and Head of School provides outstanding academic leadership to the Adelaide Medical School and contributes to the overall management and leadership of the Faculty, working in close collaboration with other Heads of School, Deputy Deans and the Faculty Executive Director. They are responsible for improving research excellence, focus and scale, ensuring excellence in and continuous improvement of the student learning experience and enhancing effective stakeholder engagement by the School. They will have overall responsibility for academic leadership and governance of the undergraduate MBBS program, and the proposed new Bachelor/ MD program.

Reporting to the Executive Dean, they inspire, motivate and develop staff, promoting a culture of high performance, engagement and commitment. They represent and advocate for the School, Faculty and University in the development of strategic partnerships and external stakeholders.
