Associate Director, Value and Access Liver and HIV, Eastern Europe 12

JOB SUMMARY :

This role is expected to support pricing and reimbursement efforts in EE12 countries in line with Global Value and Access plans and following businesses plans and priorities set by EE12 Leadership Team. Engage in appropriate discussions and activities regarding national and local pricing and access topics for Liver Diseases and HIV. Ensure good track of price evolution and support opportunities to protect price and enhance reimbursement. Act as the point of contact to provide accurate pricing information and ensure pricing databases area kept up to date. Work closely with the Global Value and Access teams to access and adapt value documents and work closely with the distributor teams to ensure alignment with the Gilead Global ISP.

The preference for this position is to be based in London but can be anywhere in Europe with good access to a big airport. The person taking this position should expect regular business travels mostly to London and to countries in Eastern Europe 12 on a monthly basis and for several consecutive days.

The EE12 Region encompasses 12 Eastern European market where Gilead is present via distributor companies. The role is focused on running value and access activities for Gilead products for the Liver and HIV Franchises in a cluster of 12 Eastern European countries, with focus on Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Croatia. The position reports to the Director, Value and Access, Eastern Europe 12. Ability to quickly understand / already know the EE12 pricing and reimbursement environments is a must.

The duties include, but not limited to:

As part of EE12 Value and Access Department and the Liver and HIV Therapeutic areas cross-functional teams, the Associate Director, Value and Access will be responsible for:
  • Driving access enhancement with 5 distributors for all HIV, HCV and HBV portfolio, helping to develop appropriate P&R strategies that value our innovation and to secure rapid access;
  • Supporting and implementing reimbursement and pricing strategies at a national level with 5 distributors in line with global and local requirements:
    • Supporting the development and implementation of a cross-functional strategy to support value messages to prepare access of current and future drugs of our portfolio;
    • Developing national dossiers (including reimbursement, health economics (cost-effectiveness and budget impact models) and pricing dossiers;
    • Generating or building on existing medical and epidemiological information to support negotiations with stakeholders in the reimbursement and pricing process;
    • Participating in the development of pricing proposals consistent with the global pricing strategy;
    • Leverage Gilead experience and best practices within Eastern Europe 12.
  • Support market access discussions in the field by developing strategies with 5 distributors to secure local access and funding of our portfolio;
  • Keep prices and reimbursement status for GILD products across the distributors markets accurate and up to date in Model N and ensure the countries follow the pricing governance processes in place;
  • Oversee expected price changes across countries and communicate timelines for that to happen to the relevant stakeholders.


Other key activities:
  • Developing valuable relationships with 5 distributors and key pricing and reimbursement decision makers in priority countries;
  • Participating in the development and implementation of stakeholder group advocacy as a tactic to drive pricing and reimbursement success;
  • Collaborating closely with local and international colleagues from value and Access, Medical, Regulatory or Governmental affairs and Market Research, to ensure alignment on value and access strategy;
  • Monitoring the environment, carrying out analysis of relevant national legislation in the sector and ensure its dissemination to the company and follow-up;
  • Contribute to upskilling soft (negotiation, influencing) and technical (value proposition, pricing and health economics) capabilities of the distributor's teams.


Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Relevant experience and a Masters degree in sciences, economics, finance or related scientific field (or international equivalent);
  • Robust experience from market access and/ or health economics work (in the industry or elsewhere)
  • Ability to critically think and analyse to resolve complex/escalated issues. Ability to think outside of the process & demonstrated broader business interest. The ability to consider impact decisions will have on other areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to clearly and concisely present issues or resolutions across multiple audiences and to interact x-functionally at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates accountability, meets or exceeds expectations and exhibits a sense of urgency on critical time-dependent issues, demonstrates the ability to prioritize
  • Capability to network, build strong and credible relationships with payer stakeholders
  • Strong teamwork - effective at being a member of teams. Listens actively and responds constructively to needs and views of others.
  • Proficiency in English. Ability to speak Romanian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Slovenian or Croatian languages is a plus but not necessary
