Research Fellow: AI for Nanophotonics

You will join our highly interactive, interdisciplinary research team, which specialises in the development and demonstration of new photonic materials and technologies based on the understanding and exploitation of light-matter interactions at the nanoscale - see more here .

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are the most important new methodologies for scientific research since the introduction of quantum mechanics. v

It is essential you have: a PhD** or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Physics or another subject relevant to the field of nanophotonics; recent experience in theoretical and/or computational electromagnetics modelling and in the development/application of machine learning algorithms for (nano)photonics research; and the ability to work effectively in a team. You should have a keen interest in studying how structured light fields interact with nanostructured materials.

Experience in photonic metamaterials/metasurfaces, super-resolution imaging, and/or optical metrology research will be advantageous, as will experience in experimental optics/(nano)photonics.
