How you will make an impact:

As the Publishing Editor you will play an important role in supporting and growing the local trade publishing program in its market-leading categories of business, personal finance and the For Dummies brand. This role will suit someone with an interest in both editorial and acquisitions.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with the Editorial, Marketing and Sales teams and authors throughout the publishing journey, from acquisitions, manuscript preparation and delivery, to publication and beyond.
  • Coordinating manuscript delivery and the creative process to ensure deadlines and expectations are met.
  • Creating high-quality information to present, pitch and promote titles for a range of initiatives.
  • Maintaining publishing schedules, ensuring metadata is optimised and accurate, providing sales updates, and undertaking market research and data analysis.
  • Networking and building relationships to gain insights and leverage into core topics.
  • Keeping abreast current Market & Industry trends to feed-back ideas and instigate new projects.
  • Supporting the Publishing Manager with daily tasks and administration as required.

This is a perfect next step for an experienced, hard-working editor and self-starter, who is interested in the acquisitions process and is driven by results.

Below is a list of other skills/ qualifications you possess:
  • B.A Degree qualification or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in a project management or editorial role.
  • Ability to put together presentations, pitches and promotions to engage with stakeholders.
  • Strong networking skills to leverage relationships to solve problems.
  • Ability to create reports and analyse data to inform decision making.
  • Drive to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite, such as Excel & Word.
  • Aptitude to quickly learn in-house systems and programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
