The role

Bristol Veterinary School is recruiting a Teaching Associate (Veterinary Clinical Demonstrator) to join a community of clinical teaching staff providing support for veterinary nursing students across all four years of their undergraduate programme. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a developing team supporting veterinary educationalists within the School, which is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

What will you be doing?

Based at Bristol Veterinary School, you will join a team supporting veterinary nurse education within the School and Langford Vets (First Opinion and Referral)). You will work closely with our academic veterinary nursing teaching team as well as referral nurses, physiotherapists and clinicians to help facilitate clinical teaching around a busy caseload across a diverse range of disciplines.

You will also play an important role in enhancing the student experience.

You should apply if

As a veterinary nurse with clinical experience and a passion for teaching, you are not expected to have referral-level experience or expertise. However, you will work to support the students in their learning from a rich, diverse and challenging curriculum and caseload. You will provide feedback and contribute to assessment as well as supporting the administration associated with formal university teaching and clinical rotations and placements. As part of the clinical educational team, you will be supported to contribute to the development of teaching and assessment and research outputs in the area of veterinary interprofessional education.

There is also the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty (including Bristol Medical School, and the Centre for Applied Anatomy) in a wider network supporting Health education, research and development.

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
