The Immuno-Oncology & Combinations Research Unit (IOC RU) within the GSK Oncology organization is seeking an innovative and highly motivated laboratory-based Investigator to support preclinical development of immune-based therapies and validate novel cancer immunotherapies.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

Building on your background in immuno-oncology, you will expand state-of-the-artin vitroandex vivoassay capabilities at a growing GSK site and support novel target identification efforts.

We are looking for a proactive team member, who can think out of the box to solve scientific problems, who is open to the ideas of others, and has a deep curiosity and enthusiasm for uncovering novel biology with a translational mind-set. The investigator will be accountable for generating high quality, robust data and must have an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary matrix team. Additionally, you will need to be a collegial team player, open to the ideas of others, and embody a truth-seeking and inclusive culture.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in immuno-oncology, biology or related field; post-doctoral training is not required.
  • One or more years of hands on experience with co-culture systems of primary human cells to interrogate immune cell function using flow cytometry, multiplexed cytokine quantification, and transcriptomic readouts.
  • One or more years experience in conducting independent design and analysis of experiments to functionally characterize biologics, small molecules and/or drug combinations.
  • One or more years experience with transcriptomic or proteomic single cell analyses is ideal.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with a wide range of immune cells types, incl. lymphocytes and multiple myeloid cell types, is preferred.
  • Prior experience with isolation, phenotypical and functional characterization of human tumor-infiltrating leukocytes is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to contribute in a cross-functional and global environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and implement creative solutions to meet program needs.
  • High degree of independence, proactivity, and a strong sense of accountability.

  • Hands-on experience to prioritize multiple projects and meet timelines while maintaining attention to detail and setting high performance standards.
