The role

The Department of English is seeking to appoint three Lecturers (Academic Pathway 1): in Victorian Literature (Prose Fiction); in Twentieth-Century Literature (Prose Fiction); and in Literature and Migration (1750 to the Present). The starting date for all three posts is 1 September 2021 (or as soon as possible thereafter). Candidates should specify the post for which they are applying.

The Department sees these posts as building on its research strengths in Victorian Literature, Twentieth-century Literature, and Literature and Migration respectively within a Department of English with an outstanding international reputation. The Department enjoys strong and continuing demand from talented applicants for admission to its undergraduate programmes, and is home to a thriving postgraduate community.

What will you be doing?

The successful applicants will be expected to contribute fully to high-quality teaching and administration within the Department of English and to pursue research in their areas of specialism to the highest standards in order to enhance the international research profile of the Department, the School of Humanities, and the Faculty of Arts.
