Full time Faculty Position, Division of Developmental Pediatrics

Dalhousie University & IWK Health Centre

 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

The Division of Developmental Pediatrics at Dalhousie University and the IWK Health Centre invite applications for a 0.5 FTE academic physician at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.  The successful candidate will join a group of four Developmental Pediatricians in providing clinical care, teaching and engaging in research.  The Division also includes two PhD Psychologists who are involved in research, primarily related to Autism Spectrum Disorder. This position will be primarily clinical, with some teaching responsibilities and research time.

The IWK Health Centre is an academic tertiary care pediatric and maternal care hospital, serving the three Maritime Provinces.  Our clinic provides care to children from birth through age 16 years.  We work closely with colleagues in a variety of disciplines providing care to children with autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and a wide spectrum of other developmental disorders. 

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent. They must also have FRCPC certification in pediatrics, and subspecialty certification in developmental pediatrics, or FRCPC certification in child and adolescent psychiatry, and experience in neurodevelopmental disabilities, or equivalent experience and training.  Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Nova Scotia.  Training and experience in related research, experience in medical education, and familiarity with current gold standard autism diagnostic tools are assets for this position. Compensation and academic appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
