Make significant contributions to the state of the art in optimising and automating cyber security operations and security big data analytics

Working in close collaboration with our research partners from the industry and government sector and other research providers to develop the next generation of methods and tools for supporting engineering of big data security analytical systems.

You will be joining a team that is highly knowledgeable and skilled in developing and evaluating software security and resilience solutions by leveraging applied Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches and technologies. This position is particularly focused on research on inventing new knowledge and tools for supporting Software Security Intelligence by leveraging ONSIT data and approaches, advanced data analytical frameworks, contemporary software engineering paradigms like DevOps or Progressive Web Applications (PWA). You will be expected to carry out research and development activities that would have significant impact on our industry collaborators' abilities to design, evaluate, deploy, and operate secure and resilience hyper-connected, hyper-mobile, and hyper-virtualised software systems aimed at supporting mission critical processes. This position also presents several opportunities to engage and collaborate with our international collaborators in Europe and USA.

To be successful you will need:
  • PhD in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or closely related area.
  • Demonstrated ability in conducting and publishing high-quality research on one or more of the topics related to Software Security Intelligence, Security and Privacy by Design and Engineering Software for Information Interoperability and Resilience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Empirical Research using qualitative and quantitative methods, applied ML/DL/NLP for quality of software and development processes and Security in.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience or willingness to quickly learn and apply qualitative and quantitative data analytical tools and well-known ML libraries/packages.
  • Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
