The Student Administration Unit (SAU) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Officer, Policy and Procedure to join our Performance and Improvement team.

The Student Administration Unit (SAU) is part of the Corporate Services Division and supports the UTS Vision to be a world-leading university of technology by facilitating all aspects of the student lifecycle - from enquiry to graduation.

With 120 full-time equivalent staff, SAU supports excellence in teaching and learning and research by delivering high quality, compliant and client focussed administration of the University's policies and rules relating to student administration.

The Performance and Improvement Team (reporting to the Director, SAU) is responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to support all areas of the Student Administration Unit.

Detailed Description

The Senior Officer, Policy and Procedure supports the Performance and Improvement team functions for all process improvement initiatives within the Student Administration Unit.

The Senior Officer is also responsible for ensuring the process and procedural approaches of the unit are compliant with University policy and legislative obligations, and are consistently and accurately documented and available to staff.

Main duties/responsibilities:
  • Contribute detailed input to the analysis and review of University policy and procedure relating to student administration
  • Coordinate and compile UTS Academic and Principal Dates
  • Liaise with SAU teams to maintain, review and improve the document repository, ensuring all business process documentation is available to staff
  • Coordinate the bi-annual SAU Internal Audit, ensuring the audit is available to stakeholders within the agreed timeframe
  • Support and/or lead improvement projects as per business needs and as applicable, ensure compliance with or recommend change to policy and procedures
  • Maintain relationships and meet expectations to ensure planned continuous improvement related activities are enabled and carried out in a collaborative manner that recognises stakeholder and staff needs
