Senior Business Analyst

The UTS Information Technology Division is recruiting for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a highly motivated and collaborative team that play a pivotal role in identifying and implementing technology and business solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve productivity across the University.

The Information Technology Division (ITD) is one of the University's administrative divisions. Located in Ultimo Sydney, the ITD Division provides IT services to meet the academic, administrative and student requirements of the University. Within ITD dedicated groups have been established to deliver strategy, programs, services, infrastructure projects and IT policy. This structure enables ITD to comprehensively and effectively manage its client base of which there are currently 40 major groups in the University.

The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and their strategic business drivers and specific requirements in relation to Information technology. In addition to the above, the Senior Business Analyst role will be required to oversee the work of project teams, external suppliers and contractors in the delivery of projects.

Detailed Description

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Leveraging a variety of techniques (including agile) to elicit and document complex business requirements encompassing business visions, goals, personas, user stories and acceptance criteria specific to the defined scope of the project;
• Eliciting and documenting processes;
• Preparing testing documentation including test strategies, test plans, scenarios, scripts & executing the testing of new solutions;
• Critically analyse complex problems & offer innovative solutions;
• Acting as a liaison between the Business Units, technology teams and support teams;
• Preparing training documentation & taking a role in end user training;

• Demonstrated experience in various tools and agile techniques to elicit, analyse and communicate business and solution requirements.
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with experience in preparing and evaluating procurement documentation (specifically Requests for Tender / Quotation) and the preparation of business cases including cost / benefit analysis.
• Extensive experience in conducting research into emerging technologies and standards and applying and evaluating these as possible solutions to business related problems or issues
• Extensive and proven track record experience in Senior BA role and working within a complex and dynamic project environment
• Digital experience, especially customer interaction in the context of Digital technologies and customer experience measurement
