  • Voor- en nagraadse onderrig in Geskiedenis, insluitend die ontwikkeling van leerplanne en studiemateriaal;
  • Nagraadse studieleiding en die uitvoer van navorsingsprojekte;
  • Aktiewe deelname aan die Departement Geskiedenis se programme met betrekking tot navorsing en publikasies;
  • Hantering van administratiewe take wat met bogenoemde departementele werksaamhede gepaardgaan;
  • Deelname aan sosiale impak/gemeenskapsinteraksie inisiatiewe, insluitend diens in departementele/fakulteits- en dissiplinespesifieke professionele komitees en aktiwiteite.


  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in History, including development of curricula and study material;
  • Postgraduate supervision and carrying out research projects;
  • Active participation in the research and publication programmes of the History Department;
  • Administrative tasks associated with the above-mentioned departmental activities;
  • Participating in social impact/community interaction initiatives, including service on departmental/faculty and discipline specific professional committees and activities.


Requirements
  • `n Doktorsgraad (PhD) in Geskiedenis;
  • Bewese voorgraadse en nagraadse onderrigervaring op tersiêre vlak;
  • Ervaring van nagraadse studieleiding op minstens magistervlak;
  • 'n Gevestigde rekord van ewekniebeoordeelde en geakkrediteerde publikasies;
  • Toepaslike administratiewe bestuursvaardighede;
  • Goeie interpersoonlike en kommunikasievaardighede;
  • Die vermoë om onderrig te gee en navorsing te doen in 'n meertalige akademiese omgewing.


  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in History;
  • Proven undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience at tertiary level;
  • Experience in postgraduate supervision on at least Master's level;
  • An established record of peer-reviewed and accredited publications;
  • Relevant administrative management skills;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • The ability to teach and conduct research in a multilingual academic environment.

  • An interest in broader African History.
