What You Will Achieve

The High-throughput Clinical Immunoassays & Diagnostics (HCID) group within Pfizer Vaccines R&D is seeking a candidate for a Scientist role in the Molecular Diagnostics Group. The individual will support Phase 3 clinical testing of C difficile , Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and SARS-CoV-2. The candidate will function as a senior member of the Molecular Diagnostics Group. As an integral member of this dynamic team, the incumbent must have a strong work ethic and be highly collaborative with the other group members. All work is to be done in a compliant manner according to relevant SOP guidelines and GLP and/or GCLP guidelines, when required.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate operational activities to support Phase 3 clinical studies. Ensure high quality results and quick turnaround times. Focus on collaboration and continuous improvement of all aspects of lab operations.
  • Manage and provide technical guidance to 3-5 junior staffs.
  • Review QC results and clinical data; perform troubleshooting and investigation as needed.
  • Optimize and implement workflows for new assays.
  • Author and review test methods and reports.
  • Oversee laboratory safety. Perform job responsibilities in compliance with cGMP/GLP and all other regulatory agency requirements.


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemical/ Biological Engineering, or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of laboratory operations and managerial experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software such as GraphPad Prism.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams, manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience working in high-throughput laboratory preferred.


Nice-to-Have

  • Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in maintaining a mouse colony, and with tissue necropsy
  • Knowledge in multi-parameter flow cytometry analysis of tumor infiltrating immune cells
  • Hands-on skills in protein analytics
