The Department of Economics at the University of Southampton is seeking to make an appointment at Lecturer (Assistant Professor) level in Economics (The successful applicant will be appointed as either a Level 4 or Level 5 Lecturer dependent on qualifications and experience). The post is expected to commence in September 2021 (starting date is negotiable) and is permanent subject to a probationary period.

The Economics Department has an outstanding reputation for high quality applied and theoretical research in all core areas of Economics. Candidates from all fields of Economics with strong research background, a demonstrated ability to publish in leading international journals and excellent teaching skills are encouraged to apply.
Expectations from the post holder include: Developing and maintaining a high quality research agenda that leads to publications in top journals and grant applications; teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; research supervision at Masters and PhD levels and contributing to the administration of the Department. Successful applicants should have a PhD or equivalent qualifications and experience.
