The Director, Organisational Development is both a strategic and operational role which forms part of the Executive team within the University's HR function.

Serving a workforce of over 6,000 employees, the Director of Organisational Development is a strategic thinker and experienced change practitioner responsible for supporting the University in developing workplace culture, capability, and performance. Responsible for setting the direction for a small team that is accountable for designing strategies, frameworks, and tools to support talent management, change, and organisational design including coordinating of diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the portfolio led by the Director, Organisational Development is responsible for administering the biennial staff survey and designing and implementing contemporary programs to support staff engagement, leadership development and professional development across the University with a key focus to support leaders in building a culture consistent with the stated organisational values and behaviour expectations.

Knowledge and experience required to be successful in role:
  • Post-Graduate qualifications in HR Management, Business Management, or a relevant field partnered with Executive experience within a complex organisation.
  • Successful implementation of enterprise-wide Organisational Development strategy.
  • Proven track record in leading, coaching, motivating, and building a high-performing team of HR professionals.
  • Ability to engage, partner with and influence Senior Managers and Executives.
  • Evidence in successfully driving transformational change and leading complex projects.
  • Experience with sophisticated strategy framework methods and tools that contribute to creating a sustainable and diverse workforce.
  • Sound understanding of the use of information technology to support business processes and process change management
