Manage the delivery of multiple projects ensuring contractual arrangements are met while mitigating risk

Capital Projects and Facilities Management is responsible for the delivery of infrastructure projects and the provision of facilities management and support services across the University's property portfolio to support the University's core learning, teaching, research and administration activities. In this context, the portfolio ensures that the University enjoys maximum benefits as a result of the continued and prioritised delivery of high-quality capital, minor and planned maintenance projects within the Infrastructure Investment Plan and the delivery of Facilities management services.

The Capital Projects team within the Portfolio oversees the delivery of complex building projects up to the value of $15 million with an annual Financial Investment Plan (FIP) budget ranging between $30M - $70M annually.

Working under the broad direction the Project Manager is responsible for project management, including elements of major projects into the University environment as well as minor works, in accordance with time, cost, quality and contracts and negotiating variations and matters in dispute.

To be successful you will need:
  • Demonstrated 5 + years' experience in delivering predominately engineering services infrastructure projects through the entire project life cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in the project management of complex services and building projects within the building and construction arena.
  • Demonstrated Stakeholder Management experience in diverse organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate matters relating to contract disputes with consultants and contractors and display effective problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the relevant construction legislation (including regulations and codes).
