Full-time, fixed-term position available for 12 months

This is a wonderful opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who is passionate about engaging with community and schools to inspire and support students into their studies at the University of Adelaide

Working under general direction of the Outreach & Engagement Manager, the Outreach and Engagement Officer will identify and drive a broad range of in-person and online engagement initiatives to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to attend the University of Adelaide. The Outreach & Engagement Officer will effectively promote the programs of the University of Adelaide as well as the Wirltu Yarlu Karnkanthi flagship program, and will engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community groups, schools and education partners.

Key to this role is the delivery of culturally inclusive community outreach, alongside prompt and accurate program information delivery, resulting in effective engagement of future Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in line with the targets set out in the Tarrkarri Tirrka strategy.

To be successful you will need:
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues effecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the higher education sector.
  • Knowledge of the broad range of services Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students may need/wish to access while studying at University.
  • Knowledge of and/or understanding of customer relationship systems.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining effective administrative systems.
