At Wiley, we strive to be the very best at all that we do and we need your help to realise this. We currently have an opportunity for a full-time role as a Publishing Editor.

The Publishing Editor will be responsible for improving the quality of manuscript on our mathematics/science projects, ensuring that manuscript submissions adhere to schedules. This role is varied, including involvement in the authoring, publishing and production departments. If you enjoy working in a cooperative team environment, this position would suit you perfectly. You must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and possess strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines. Solid writing and research skills are a must, along with excellent editing and proofreading capabilities.

How you will make an impact:
  • In partnership with authors, develop high quality manuscripts for a range of mathematics/science projects.
  • Create content for digital resources and publications.
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers/departments (both local and offshore e.g. authors, contributors, publishers, copy editors, proofreaders, artists, compositors and digital vendors).
  • Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Meet production deadlines.

We are looking for people who:
  • Tertiary qualified, preferably in mathematics or science, and have sound knowledge of technologies relevant to the best educational practices or have previous experience in a similar developmental editor role.
  • We are looking for someone who loves digital educational products and who is able to use initiative to problem solve and collaborate effectively with in-house colleagues and external suppliers.
  • A passion for learning and innovation, with an aptitude for working with new technology and systems.
  • Your project management, communication and time management skills will be exceptional.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, and possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as a positive and flexible attitude.
