Registered Nurse Assistant Faculty-Med Surg

Job Description
The Registered Nursing Faculty will have the responsibility for instruction in theory, skills lab, or clinical portions of the nursing curriculum.

Schedule: Varies due to clinical site availability. Must be available weekdays and weekends as needed
for schedule.

Qualifications: The RN Assistant Instructor must possess a Bachelor's or higher degree which includes course work in nursing, education or administration. The RN Instructor shall have a minimum of one year continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area within the previous five years OR one academic year of registered nurse-level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency. The RN Instructor must also have at least one year of experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing. The RN Instructor must have all required certificates, licenses and registrations required for the course(s) they are to teach including a clear and active RN license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Validated Clinical Competence: The RN Instructor must possess and exercise the degree of learning, skill, care and experience ordinarily possessed and exercised by staff-level registered nurses of the clinical unit or nursing area to which the Instructor is assigned.
