The Sr. Research Scientist will plan and execute observational cross-sectional and longitudinal behavioral studies to address key regulatory questions related to prevalence and patterns of use of nicotine-containing products in the US and globally. Collaborate with cross-functional departments (e.g., Consumer Insights) on research studies to inform product development in support of regulatory questions. Conduct statistical analyses to address key behavioral research questions supporting regulatory filings and regulatory engagement.
Maintains knowledge and awareness of behavioral science advancements in tobacco regulatory science.
Supports abstract and manuscript development of relevant behavioral and health policy work.
Presents research findings to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, academia) and at professional conferences.
Support knowledge management of behavioral research portfolio.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and experience in all aspects of conducting behavioral research, and particularly analytics. Knowledge of health economics a plus.
Knowledge and experience in applying commonly used statistical analyses in behavioral science.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammatical/technical writing skills
Keen attention to detail.
Ability to confidently communicate with and effectively present information internally and externally (e.g., scientific conferences and other public forums).
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Strong individual initiative.
Strong commitment to quality.
Very good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work within a matrix team environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders at JLI.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D. in Psychology, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Social Sciences or a closely related field with strong quantitative training
A minimum of 3 year of relevant post-doctoral experience (preferably in the pharmaceutical or tobacco industry).
