ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and execute perception and behavior experimental studies to address key regulatory questions related to perceptions and use of nicotine-containing products
Conduct psychometric studies to construct and validate self-report outcome measures (i.e., consumer reported outcome measures (CROM)) used as behavioral study endpoints, consistent with widely accepted standards.

Other responsibilities include:

Maintains knowledge and awareness of behavioral science advancements in tobacco regulatory science.
Supports abstract and manuscript development of relevant behavioral and psychometric work.
Presents research findings to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, academia) and at professional conferences.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and experience in all aspects of conducting behavioral research, including vendor selection, study fielding, data management and analytics, final report development
Knowledge and experience in applying commonly used statistical and psychometric analyses in behavioral science
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammatical/technical writing skills
Keen attention to detail.
Ability to confidently communicate with and effectively present information internally and externally (e.g., scientific conferences and other public forums).
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Strong individual initiative.
Strong commitment to quality.
Very good problem-solving skills
Ability to work within a matrix team environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders at JLI.

EDUCATION:

Ph.D. in Psychology, Psychometrics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a closely related field
A minimum of 3 year of relevant post-doctoral experience (preferably in the pharmaceutical or tobacco industry).
