We strive to create a culture that values dedication, hard work, collaborative events and community involvement.DescriptionEditorial Director, Bio/Pharmaceutical SciencesThe editorial director leads the editorial content creation and production for print and digital publications, newsletters, and live events for industry-leading brands focused on the development and manufacture of bio/pharmaceuticals. This position is responsible for directing the editorial team to produce objective print magazines, digital publications, conference sessions and webcasts, online news, and special projects for pharmaceutical research and development experts.The editorial director serves as a consultant to the sales and content marketing teams, recommending content for client-sponsored content and events and represents the brands at industry events.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees editorial direction and content development for monthly magazines, supplements, and ebooks for three bio/pharmaceutical industry publications focusing on drug development, formulation, manufacturing, and qualityPrepares annual editorial calendarsInterviews industry scientists and experts; writes feature articlesSolicits editorial feature contributions from industry expertsAssigns articles and special projects to freelance writers and staff editorsCoordinates/moderates Editors' Series webcasts and conference sessionsConducts podcasts and video interviewsDirects editorial focus of newslettersMonitors industry activity; consults with industry experts and EABServes as brand and industry spokesperson at trade shows, conferences, and online eventsModerates sponsored webcasts; provides advice on webcast contentConsults with advertisers/sales on industry topicsStaff development, training, and management responsibilitiesOversees schedules and deadlinesInteracts with other editorial directors in the business group on pertinent topicsPosition RequirementsPosition requirements:A degree in chemistry, biology, science; or degree in journalism with strong science training.Knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes and manufacturing, chemistry or biological sciences10 years of progressive experienceA portfolio of published/posted of bio/pharmaceutical, life science, or health-related content (preferably for B-to-B communications)Strong editing, writing, communication, technical, and organizational skillsThe following skills are a plus:Proficiency in Mac Platform, InCopy, and content management systemsEOE StatementMJH Life Sciences™ provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
