*Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:* Field education is an integral component of social work education at FSU. The field education program is governed by the mission, goals, objectives, foundation curriculum, advanced curriculum, and the policies and standards of the CSWE. The field education experience affords students the opportunity to promote the development of professional competence and to integrate and apply knowledge, skills and values of generalist and advanced social work practice. It is designed so that students demonstrate competency of the MSW Program objectives. The Director of Field Education provides leadership in all aspects of the MSW Field Education Program. *Primary Purpose of the Position:* The Director of Field Education, which is an 11 month position, provides leadership in all aspects of the Master of Social Work Field Education Program and teaches two (2) social work courses. Field Education is an integral component of social work education. The Field Education program is governed by the mission, goals, objectives, foundation curriculum, advanced curriculum, and the policies and standards of the CSWE. The Field Education experience affords students the opportunity to promote the development of professional competencies and to integrate and apply knowledge, skills and values of generalist and advanced social work practice. It is designed so that students demonstrate competency of the MSW Program objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Masters of Social Work degree from an accredited university. Five years post master's social work practice experience; minimum of two years of experience as a community agency-based field instructor; experience in doing collaborative work at the community or university level; and demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse population are a must. Experience with program development, administration, and evaluation; exceptional communication and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple demands and responsibilities; expertise in working with groups are the desired qualifications.
