Summary of Major Responsibilities The Manager, Laboratory Service Training will lead the lab service training team in the development, coordination, and execution of all training-related activities across multiple sites. This role will manage a team of lab service training leaders and support the day-to-day operations and development of the team. This role will be responsible for the overall development and execution of the Exact Sciences Laboratories training program; including, but not limited to, new hire onboarding, training, retraining, corrective actions, processing, and updating training materials and documentation. The Manager, Laboratory Service Training is responsible for the creation and/or approval and maintenance of in-house training programs; including, but not limited to, the development, coordination, and execution of learning plans and strategies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Collaborate with trainers, stakeholder groups, and cross-functional partners. * Utilize collaboration with internal and external sources to create a flexible learning program that supports multiple sites. * Collaborate with other trainers across the organization to ensure consistency in training and re-training processes across multiple sites. * Interact and build strong working relationships with customers as well as peers at all levels of the organization. * Support training and development initiatives to maintain and promote high levels of quality and service excellence. * Review, assess, and coordinate the continuing education needs of all departments within Exact Sciences Laboratories. * Recommend and implement continuous improvements to ensure high quality training programs/operations. * Identify and share best practices in machine maintenance/repair, automation maintenance/repair, competency tracking, and regulatory laboratory/training requirements. * Coordinate, develop, and implement competency assessments, as needed. * Maintain accurate training records in accordance with Exact Sciences Laboratories record retention policy. * Support the day-to-day operations and continued development of the training and development team. * Assess overall status of employee and departmental needs. * Identify and share best practices to support the continuous improvement of the learning experience. * Retrain or develop corrective actions for employees, as needed. * Prioritize and delegate tasks effectively. * Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance. * Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them. * Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching. * Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives. * Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization. * Ability to inspire and motivate others and work effectively through influence and collaboration. * Adapt to changing workloads and circumstances effectively; ability to respond to new information quickly. * Apply strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and effectively connect with others. * Apply excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * Apply strong presentation skills with ability to connect with and engage audiences of differing levels. * Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork. * Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures. * Maintain regular and reliable attendance. * Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization. * Ability to work designated schedule. * Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical day. * Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements. * Ability and means to travel between local Madison locations. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Electronics, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or field as outlined in the essential duties; or Associates Degree in Engineering, Technology, Electronics, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or related field as outlined in the essential duties and 2 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree. * 8+ years of professional experience related to the essential duties of the position. * 3+ years of direct or indirect leadership experience with progressively increasing strategic responsibility and cross-functional exposure. * Demonstrated expertise in peer-to-peer training/education with progressively increasing responsibility, exposure, and scope. * Advanced understanding of instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, technical, and/or hands-on/on-the-job training. * Demonstrated understanding of content development, facilitation, and evaluation of training. * Demonstrated understanding of working in a laboratory or similar environment with professional working knowledge of HIPAA, GLP, GDP, and laboratory terminology and equipment. * Advanced understanding of engineering and machine maintenance in a manufacturing related industry. * Demonstrated ability to plan workload, allocate tasks, and scale operations to align with business priorities. * Demonstrated ability to lead a training function and build operational processes to meet business needs. * Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Teams, and Zoom. * Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation. * Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications * 5+ years of direct or indirect leadership experience with progressively increasing strategic responsibility and cross-functional exposure. * Experience in maintenance and repair of complex laboratory equipment, such as liquid handling robots. * Demonstrated understanding of clinical laboratory service operations and activities. * Demonstrated use of applicable software, such as LIS, Epic, SAP, and/or Sprocket. #LI-ER1 We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
