Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Scientific Search's client is seeking highly motivated and exceptionally creative candidates to lead a cutting-edge research project in the field of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology. Projects include examining the signal transduction mechanisms regulating HSC self-renewal and multipotency with the ultimate goal of developing this knowledge into technology to improve in vitro HSC expansion and in vivo HSC function with clinical therapeutic potential.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct and design independent research under the direction of lab Principal Investigator (PI).
• Performing cell culture, genomic analysis, ELISA assays, histology, flow cytometry and other molecular bench work.
• Tissue harvesting and cell processing.
• Animal husbandry and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
• Summarize experimental data and assist in drafting figures, results, and methods under the direction of the PI.
• Lead junior research assistants/technicians/volunteers.
• Acquire a thorough understanding of the present scientific literature relating to the research in the laboratory.
• Public presentation of research findings to other members of the scientific community.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. or M.D. (or equivalent foreign degree) in the field of Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology, Genetics or Hematology/Oncology are preferred however all relevant degrees will be considered. Candidates with a track record of publication are desired.
