**Location/Division Specific Information:**
Biosciences Division / Milwaukee, WI
Join our team in Milwaukee, WI. We are expanding this site to provide molecular biology analytical support for catalog and custom nucleotide components.

*2nd Shift Hours:* M-F 2:00PM-10:30PM
*3rd Shift Hours:* M-F 10:00PM - 6:30AM
**How will you make an impact?**
The Quality Control Scientist II is responsible for performing and interpreting analytical assays related to finished (bulk) product, in-process product, raw materials, and other samples in the QC lab in accordance with the quality and departmental procedures.
**What will you do? **

* Perform assays (e.g. HPLC, NMR, GC, KF, UV-Vis, etc.) of manufactured product and raw materials following standard procedures and maintain records according to ISO and/or other applicable standard.

* Maintain laboratories, supplies, and lab equipment according to procedure. In addition, ensure equipment is calibrated and repaired as required.

* Assist with development of new processes and analytical method development.

* Perform laboratory investigations. Execute experiments to troubleshoot assays, resolve customer complaints, and confirm out of specification results.

*How will you get here?*

* B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related science required; Advanced degree considered in lieu of experience.

* Bachelor degree and high school diploma/GED is the minimum educational requirement

*Experience *

* 3 years of laboratory industry experience. Quality Control experience, preferred.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**

* Understanding of analytical principles, theory, and operation of various analytical instruments and techniques (HPLC, GC, NMR)

* Understanding of molecular biology and/or microbiology analytical principles and theory.

* Ability to verbally communicate, read, and write in English.

* Ability to read, follow, and write work instructions. Ability to convey pertinent written and verbal information.

* Ability in the use of electronic systems (e.g., computer) and MS Office (Word, Excel) knowledge

* Ability in the use of laboratory software and electronic records systems.

* Good written communication skills, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to regularly handle chemicals, solvents, and potentially hazardous substances.

* Be mechanically adept and able to apply mechanical fundamentals to properly operate the equipment within their area of responsibility.

* The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistance.

* Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distant vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between basic colors.
