*How will you make an impact?*
Reporting to the manager of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), the QC Scientist III will work in a team based environment and perform Quality Control Assays/experiments on molecular biology reagents (bulks, components, finished goods) for use in research and commercial scientific products for the life sciences industry. Experiments are performed following controlled protocols and data is recorded on batch records following good documentation practices.
*What will you do?*

* Utilize specialized technical knowledge and skills to make detailed observations and analyze data within operating parameters.
* Manage and support the scheduling of required assay for product or bulk releases
* Support qualification and maintenance of new and existing laboratory equipment
* Assist with troubleshooting for specific processes or activities as assigned.
* Use the Quality Management System (Trackwise) to investigate deviations and out of specification/out of trend instances and author reports.
* Update or create procedural documentation for current or new assays
* Identify opportunities to optimize existing manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
* Advise the team lead/Manager of factors that may affect quality of the product
* Support lab-based safety initiatives
* Flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed
* Support training new or current colleagues on existing or new QC assays
*How you will get here? *Minimum Qualifications
Education / Experience:

* (Required) Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or other related discipline
* (Required) 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or research laboratory -OR- Master's degree in biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or other related discipline
Knowledge / Skills:

* ISO 90001, ISO 13485 and/or GMP Manufacturing Environment
* Bench work in both a lab environment and manufacturing facility with specialized equipment
* Excellent documentation and communication skills
* Work independently in a group setting
* Great problem-solving skills
* Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, experienced in root cause analysis
* Knowledge in the use of Scientific laboratory techniques, equipment and materials:
* (Preferred) Next Generation Library Prep, Sequencing Acquisition and Analysis
* (Preferred) Real-time PCR
* (Preferred) Bioanalyzer (Agilent)
* (Preferred) Nanodrop
* (Preferred) FRET-Based Enzymatic Activity Assays
* (Required) Chromatography: HPLC, UPLC and HPIC
* Small/Medium Scale Nucleic Acid Purification
* Polyacrylamide and Agarose Gel Electrophoresis
* OD Measurements via Spectrophotometer
* Cloning and Transformations

Working Conditions:

* Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
* May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties
* May intermittently sit at desk/lab bench for a long period of time to perform experiments, write and use a keyboard to communicate through written means
* May require the need to lift up to 20 lbs
