Position: Clinical Instructor of Diagnostic Imaging Department: Small Animal Clinical Sciences
Status: Full-time

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
* Primary job responsibility will be to assist the radiologist with managing the diagnostic imaging clinical service; participate in didactic and clinical instruction; and provide direct and indirect clinical supervision of students assigned to the service.
* Participate in daily clinical activities in the diagnostic imaging service and after-hours emergency/on-call duty. Diagnostic imaging service is provided to both large animal and small animal hospitals in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital; other departments; and referring veterinarians.
* Participate in the teaching and advising of veterinary students and supervision of technical staff.
* Participate in the evaluation of veterinary students and technical staff.
* Participate in organizing activities to enhance the diagnostic imaging section.
* Participate in outreach programs (Vet Step, SERP, etc.).
* Assist radiologist with developing new programs and initiatives that enhance clinical instruction and the diagnostic imaging section.
* Expected to engage in clinical research and other educational activities for scholarly development and continuing education.
* Expected to participate in meetings, seminars, journal club and diagnostic imaging rounds.
Qualifications
* DVM from an AVMA accredited Veterinary School preferred but ECFVG certified acceptable.
* License to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Alabama is preferred but not required.
* Should be knowledgeable in both small and large animal radiology.
Work Experience:
* At least one year of experience in a diagnostic imaging facility or clinical practice
* At least one year diagnostic imaging training; including clinical curriculum development and instructing students in an academic environment or equivalent to a one-year rotating internship
Skills and Abilities:
* Strong work ethic
* Strong organizational and writing skills.
* Ability to effectively advise students.
* Effectively communicate and collaborate with others.
* Strict attention to detail and ability to meet.
Salary
Commensurate with education, training and experience, Salary is contingent upon outside funding,

* This position require weekend and after work hours' job responsibilities.
* This position funded through restricted outside funding.
