Information Technology/Management Information Systems

Ottawa University seeks candidates and/or nominations for a full-time, 12-month, IT/MIS faculty position with assignment in the University's Online program (IT/MIS: Information Technology/Management Information Systems). This position will be located at the Overland Park (Kansas) campus and will be assigned the appropriate faculty rank based on teaching experience and academic credentials.

This position will be expected to lead and teach in our IT/MIS curriculums, while also participating in accreditation processes and in Ottawa's active student recruitment program. Primary responsibilities include academic program guidance, providing instructional leadership, and program expansion.

With the participation of this new faculty member, Ottawa University will continue the one-hundred and fifty-six-year tradition of producing exceptional and highly capable leaders who impact local, national and international business; a tradition recognized throughout the world by Ottawa University graduates and their colleagues.

In 2020, Ottawa University officially announced an accelerated online learning viability by establishing a dedicated academic unit focusing on online education, OU Online. Heralded by Chancellor Kevin Eichner, the new academic unit serves working professionals and graduate students who choose to further their education primarily through an online educational experience.

OU Online is structured geographically around 42 states and incorporates the University's physical adult campuses in Kansas City and Milwaukee. The Kansas City campus serves Kansas and Missouri students, and the Milwaukee campus serves Wisconsin and Illinois students. Students from the remaining 38 states without a physical campus have been folded together to create what is now the OU Online division.

The initial goals for OU Online were established and include upholding the mission and vision of Ottawa University, building a distinctive brand and demand-value proposition in the online space, providing an esteemed online-education platform, and delivering an exceptional student experience. From these overriding goals, OU Online has also implemented strategic initiatives in the four areas of brand, program, and student experience, as well as investment expansion.
