Menlo Park, CAcheck out all our open jobs; www.scientificsearch.comScientific Search's client is seeking a medicinal chemist and/or chemical biologist to apply cutting edge tools in artificial intelligence (AI) and chemistry automation to accelerate drug discovery. The candidate should be experienced with working in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of biologists, chemists, and computational scientists. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive projects forward to meet goals and advance new technologies is highly desired. The successful candidate will lead programs in either hit-to-lead discovery or lead optimization across various therapeutic areas, including cancer and infectious disease.
This position will be a part of a program that is developing a chemistry automation platform to transform the drug discovery process. The platform enables molecular designers to drive iterative design-make-test cycles through custom automation tools.Overview:Work with computational AI scientists to design novel compounds to meet target product profile parameters, convert these designs to synthetic plans and managing the execution of these experiments on our automated chemistry systems.Collaborate closely with researchers across the team as well as with external partners on specific programs.Will also have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers in internal drug discovery programs and be engaged in innovative projects that feature robotics, artificial intelligence, computational biology, lab automation, microfabrication and imaging.Qualifications:Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field and at least 8-10 years professional experienceHave a broad knowledge of synthetic chemistry, biochemistry and cell biology; a history of academic/scientific achievement and scientific innovation demonstrated by publications and/or patent applications; demonstrated leadership skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; andWork well in interdisciplinary team-based groupsPossess a strong track record of innovation with demonstrated ability to execute on challenging projectsDemonstration of successful leadership of complex programs and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams preferredHave a willingness to work in a wide variety of therapeutic areas and disease states.Experience with proposal writing and presentation skills are highly valuedFor immediate consideration please email current resume to Will Corbin; will@scientificsearch.com & reference Job #15794*Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
