The Part-time Instructor, IT- Programming & Software Development will conduct college courses for undergraduate students.
The salary range for this position is based on experience and academic credentials.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's degree in Information Technology or related field. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACS.
* Teaching and/or work experience in programming and software development.
* Proficient in one or more of the following: JAVA, Python, C++, C#, Swift, Android, SQL.
* Understand and be committed to the unique nature and role of the College.
* Is educationally prepared at an appropriate level and/or related work experience for the discipline involved and possesses professional certification as required.
* Has minimum teaching and/or related work experience as identified in job-entry salary schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
* Understanding of Object-Oriented programming and Agile development methods
* Knowledgeable in Systems Analysis and Design
* Knowledgeable of SDLC
* Willingness to learn and work with new programming development tools and curriculum.
Essential Duties
* Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the dean.
* Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
* Compile bibliographies of specialized materials or outside reading assignments as applicable.
* Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
* Construct, administers, and grades examinations.
* Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
* Attend specialized training activities that enhance job performance and foster diversity, equity and inclusion.
* Foster diversity, equity and inclusion with colleagues and students.
* Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
* Pursue continuous improvement in the areas of subject matter expertise; teaching and learning; the use of educational technology; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and other areas related to the strategic goals of the college.
* Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities that are appropriate and meaningful and that maximize equitable student outcomes.
* Demonstrated practice of fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom and among your team, as well as experience working in a diverse environment.
