The role
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute fully to the research and engagement activity of the Hong Kong History Project, which is housed in the Department of History and led by Professor Robert Bickers. They will be a specialist in any area of the history of Hong Kong.
What will you be doing?
You will be undertaking independent post-doctoral research in any aspect of the history of nineteenth or twentieth century Hong Kong which will lead to scholarly publications, research and networking events, and online and/or in-person public engagement. You will work with the Project Director, and other project team members. You will undertake some teaching in the Department of History. It is expected that the project would require Chinese language skills.
You should apply if
You are a historian and have completed a PhD in any aspect of the History of Hong Kong by the end of August 2021. You may already have a track record in research publication in this field or will have developing and demonstrable potential to publish, and to contribute to online or in-person public engagement and other research activities.
You have some experience in teaching at undergraduate levels.
